Bellway buys land in Merseyside for new residential development

Bellway Homes has acquired more than eight acres of land on Rupert Road in Roby for a new residential development.

Known as Nutwood, inspired by the fictional children’s cartoon character Rupert the Bear (who lived with his parents in a house in Nutwood), the new development will comprise a total of 87 high quality new build homes.

Meeting the region’s housing requirements, Bellway Homes will be providing a superb range of three bedroom and four bedroom detached properties at Nutwood, which will appeal to first-time-buyers, families and those looking to downsize.

With modern lifestyles in mind, the properties will feature contemporary open-plan kitchen diners, separate lounges and en suite shower rooms to the master bedrooms. Each house will also benefit from a garage or off-road parking.

Jenny Bell, sales director at Bellway Homes, comments: “We are thrilled to announce our plans to build in Roby, delivering much needed high quality homes. The development will offer a broad selection of expertly designed properties, which we are confident will attract local buyers from Roby as well as those from further afield.”

In addition to the new residential development, Bellway Homes will make a significant financial contribution of £75,000 towards the Bowring Park restoration programme, which includes improvements to pathways and vehicular routes in the locality.

Construction on site will start in Spring, with a sales launch expected in the summer. The opening of the stunning showhomes will follow later this year.

Well located, Nutwood is close to both the M62 and M57 motorways, as well as Roby and Huyton train stations, making it ideal for commuters. The development benefits from schools and everyday amenities on its doorstep yet is just over one mile from Huyton and only a short drive away from Liverpool city centre, both of which offer additional shops, restaurants, leisure facilities and parks.
