Dronfield-based financial planners, Belmayne, have proved they are as adept at making money for charity as they are for clients, after donating £10,000 to four local good causes.

The chartered independent advisers have raised the impressive sum just six months after launching the Belmayne Foundation, to benefit the community in which they are based.

Belmayne’s donation has been split equally between the four charities it has pledged to support this year. They are: Sheffield Riding for the Disabled, The Welcome Club in Dronfield, the Third Holmesfield Scout Group and Neurocare.

More than £8,000 was raised at a black-tie dinner held at the Sheffield Hilton in May. The event was fully funded by the firm, enabling all ticket sales and money raised on the night to go into the charity pot. Other fundraising activities have included Belmayne partners, Ben Smalley and Martin Birch, tackling a number of sporting challenges, such as the Sheffield Half Marathon and Tour of Yorkshire.

Ben said: “It was a pleasure to handover such a large sum of money to the four representatives of our chosen charities, after just seven months of fundraising and I would like to thank everyone who has given so generously to these very worthy causes. We have a number of ideas to keep the momentum going and look forward to making further donations before the year is out.”

The purposes of the Belmayne Foundation are to support health and wellbeing and provide relief for those in need. The founding partners have committed to focus on smaller charities, where their contribution can make a bigger impact.
