“Cameo Digital’s McMurray shortlisted for international Marketing accolade”

Charlotte McMurray, MD at Cameo Digital

A senior marketer from the North East has been included on the shortlist of an international marketing competition, celebrating females and their contribution to the sector.

Charlotte McMurray, MD of Cameo Digital, has been shortlisted in the Women in Marketing awards as one of the contenders for ‘The Change Maker’ title.

The award acknowledges females who are reshaping marketing as we know it and disrupting the industry norms, paving the way for future female Marketing leaders to do the same.

Since starting Cameo Digital, McMurray has been vocal about why there’s a shift needed to disrupt the traditional agency-client relationship, offering an alternative with her digital collective, consisting of Senior marketers with agency backgrounds. This gives clients the opportunity to work directly with these consultants on a basis that suits their business, without the overheads or restrictions they might find elsewhere.

She explained; “I’m so delighted to be named on the shortlist of the Women in Marketing awards 2018 and even more so that it’s in a category that I’m truly passionate about: making a change. When I started Cameo Digital I knew I wanted to offer something bold and different, and almost 2 years on we have 5 consultants within the collective and are working with fantastic businesses like Saddle Skedaddle, streamGO and Notify Technology, who enjoy direct access to some of the best marketing talent in the region.

“Being recognised in an international competition against such an array of incredibly talented females is a huge honour and I hope to do the North East proud by bringing home the plaque next month!”

The Women in Marketing awards is now in its 8th year and other shortlisted entrants come from businesses such as Harper’s Bazaar, Lonely Planet, Nationwide Building Society and UniLever. The ceremony will be held at the Museum of London on 7th November.
