To mark National Clean Air Day, local homebuilder Barratt Developments Yorkshire West has reaffirmed its support of the Group’s commitment to net-zero emissions by 2040.
Barratt Developments Yorkshire West has seen a significant reduction in its carbon footprint due to flexible working initiatives which have saved over 8,000 tonnes of carbon, the equivalent of taking 1,739 cars off the road.
The homebuilder is determined to be the UK’s leading national sustainable housebuilder. Early last year, it was the first national housebuilder to publish science-based targets for reducing carbon emissions and to become a net-zero greenhouse gas emissions business by 2040.
In addition, the homebuilder has set a target for new homes to be zero carbon by 2030. The homebuilder has set these targets as a commitment to lead the industry in both quality and sustainability to ensure homeowners live in high quality, low carbon, and energy efficient homes which have a lower impact on the environment and are cheaper to run.
