Elite Furniture to relocate to purpose-built HQ

Goole-based Elite Furniture is relocating to a new purpose-built factory and head office currently under construction in Airmyn.

Having outgrown its current premises at Britannia Road, the furniture manufacturer will be relocating to a new 15-acre site off Rawcliffe Road. The appointed building contractor, Eastoft-based Harrisons, has commenced construction of a turnkey solution for Elite with a new 244,254 sq. ft. base comprising offices, showroom and state-of-the-art production plant. The factory is scheduled for completion at the end of the year and the offices will be ready for occupation in spring 2017.

Elite Furniture director Rob Clarke said: “Elite Furniture has a strong commitment to the environment, so we asked Harrisons to design and build a new production facility which will enable us to produce our furniture and seating more efficiently, minimising the operation’s running costs and environmental impact with 90% of components produced within one site. The building has exceptional standards of environmental design and the production plant will enable us to manufacture more products for our UK and overseas client base. Harrisons designed and built our current premises and the outstanding quality their work on that development meant we had no hesitation in choosing the company to deliver our new base in Airmyn.”

Harrisons managing director, Andrew Largent, said: “Harrisons are proud of the fact that a high percentage of our work is repeat business and this second contract with Elite is the latest of various examples this year, including an extension to a factory we originally built for Custom Made Kitchens in Thorne and the second of two warehouses which we have built in Doncaster for haulage company JMS. We have also commenced phase two of a new production plant for Rockscape Energy Ltd, having completed phase one in 2014.”
