Partners and directors at accountancy firm Garbutt + Elliott will be tackling the Yorkshire Three Peaks challenge to raise funds for the practice’s charity partners, York Against Cancer and the Leeds Children’s Hospital Appeal.
A team of 12 from the York and Leeds-based firm will by taking on the 24-mile route that will see them summit the peaks of Pen-y-ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough, on June 16.
York Against Cancer is a small, independent charity that provides help and support for cancer patients and their families in York and North Yorkshire, as well as funding vital research and education programmes aimed at preventing and curing cancer in the future.
Julie Russell, York Against Cancer’s general manager, said: “We’re very impressed by the dedication shown by the fundraising team at Garbutt + Elliott. This is a tough challenge and it’s amazing that so many people have put themselves forward for it.
“We’re only able to make a difference to the patients and families we support and fund cancer research through the fantastic support we receive from businesses, schools and individuals, so we’ll be rooting for the team and wishing them the best for a successful day.”
Leeds Children’s Hospital Appeal aims to make the wards, theatres, parent waiting rooms and day case areas of the Leeds Children’s Hospital as child and family friendly as possible.
