Homebuilder helps plant roots to see Burley blossom this spring

Local Homebuilder, David Wilson Homes Yorkshire West, has donated planting supplies to support the Burley in Wharfedale Community Trust to install flower beds in the village.

The planting materials, which included topsoil, compost, cement and sand, were donated to Tom Sumner MBE who works closely with the Burley in Wharfedale Community Trust, and will help the group create four new flower beds in the village ready for spring.

The support of the group is the latest in a number of initiatives to support the local area as the Homebuilder continues work on a new development named Centurion Meadows. So far David Wilson Homes has invested upwards of £5 million into Burley in Wharfedale as part of both contributions to the local authority and causes including to the Burley Recreation Ground’s new pump track, the local Tennis Club and the annual Christmas light switch on. The support of the local area is something that will continue to happen regularly as work on the development is continued.

Speaking on the donation, Gavin Birch, Managing Director at David Wilson Homes Yorkshire West, comments: “We’re keen to support local communities wherever possible and invest in longer term goals for the areas in which we build. It’s great to see local groups like the Burley in Wharfedale Community Trust looking ahead to next year to ensure the village continues to remain a vibrant and pleasant place to live, so we were more than happy to support the cause.”

Tom Sumner who works closely with the Burley in Wharfedale Community Trust says: “A massive thank you to David Wilson Homes for their generous donation of materials to help us install flower beds ready for spring.

“It’s a passion of ours to keep Burley in Wharfedale thriving and enjoyable for the community and any help we receive in achieving this is greatly appreciated.”
