International Organisation Looks To Leeds For Growth

A global organisation with a track record of helping businesses achieve an average annual revenue growth of 15%, almost double the UK national average, is set to relaunch in central Leeds.

Dave McCartney, 56, who has a background in corporate business spanning the food ingredient and chemical industries, has acquired The Alternative Board (TAB) central Leeds franchise. TAB brings business owners and leaders together for monthly board meetings and one-to-one support to keep them focused, accountable and on track to achieve their personal and business goals.

Dave has been running TAB in North Leeds for the past nine years and has renewed his ten-year franchise for that territory whilst at the same time expanding into the city centre. Since acquiring his first TAB franchise, he has built a successful business and recruited global leadership and coaching specialist, Lisa Florit, to add expertise and capacity to the team.

They currently run four TAB boards in North Leeds and provide monthly one-to-one coaching and support for 25 board members. Dave plans to launch two more boards before the end of the year.

Commenting on his decision to buy the central Leeds franchise Dave said: “Leeds is one of the country’s fastest growing cities, with a diverse economy and the highest number of high growth firms outside London and the South East. It’s vibrant, it’s exciting, it’s going places and I can see that TAB has a clear role to play in helping to build an even stronger business community here.

“Over the last nine years I’ve got to know a lot of business leaders in my home city, and seen demand grow for impartial, real world advice, help and support from other people in the same situation. That’s exactly what TAB provides, and I want to give more business owners and leaders the opportunity to tap into that support network.”

The Alternative Board launched in the USA 28 years ago and came to the UK in 2009, setting up headquarters in Harrogate from where it has worked with over 1,000 businesses. There are currently 10 TAB facilitators in Yorkshire working with over 120 TAB board members who own, run or lead businesses in the region.
