The CEO and Founder of Now Healthcare Group, Europe’s largest digital health company has criticised the recent leaked government document which revealed that if Britain gets a soft Brexit or if a no deal scenario, the country’s economy will be worse off with Growth predicted to slow by up to 8% over the next 15 years.
Lee said: “If the lack of clarity over the UK and the EU persists over the next three to five years, many of the companies thinking of scaling up will start to look for a EU base, which in turn will cost the UK significantly, not only with a brain drain, but inevitably, it will lead to investment being placed elsewhere.
Businesses should prepare a plan B and clearly look outside the UK to enable them to grow at the pace they need. Investors ultimately invest for high return and if their financial return can’t be found solely in the UK, then unfortunately business founders will consider re-locating”.
He finished by saying: “I also believe now that the facts are being presented, which the previous stay/go campaigns didn’t, now should be the time for a new referendum enabling people from the ages of 16 to vote to secure their long-term future”.
