Leeds lawyer shares secrets of success

After having spent nearly 20 years working as a lawyer, and 7 years running her own businesses supporting SMEs in protecting their assets in a difficult market. Leeds and London based Rashmi Dubé has dipped her toe into new territory, adding a author as a further string to her bow, by launching her debut book.

In running her Yorkshire based business, Legatus Law, Rashmi draws upon her own experiences as an SME, tapping into the understanding she has about the challenges of running a small business from the start up phase. She sees creating positive relationships as a huge assets in any business persons arsenal and her skills in networking have been commented on by colleagues and peers alike for many years.

As a commitment to support fellow SMEs, as well as for her own personal development, she felt compelled to write this book.

She said: “Launching this book is surreal for me. It’s taken a few years to write in amongst launching and growing a business and despite my persona in business I am actually a really shy person. There were times I thought it would never get finished, but the feedback I’ve had so far has made it all worthwhile”.

As a leading Yorkshire entrepreneur Rashmi believes in the power of building relationships. The book caters for all networking abilities whether readers are just dipping their toes into networking or looking to improve existing skills, and includes content on knowing yourself, personal appearance and messaging, preparation and follow up, and networking in a digital age, to name a few. Each section is packed with ideas, tips and tricks from people who have achieved a lot through networking – both professionally and personally.

A particularly interesting section of the book addresses how Rashmi overcomes being a ‘shy girl’ by channeling her alter ego and multiple personas she calls on for inspiration, to enable her to address a room with confidence.
