The Dundas Handmade and Vintage Market provides Teesside shoppers with the perfect opportunity to buy a present to remember for their loved ones this Christmas.
The popular event takes place on 14 and 15 December and, as well as all types of handmade and vintage goods, it will showcase the work of local artists and designers. There will also be a fascinating selection of local interest books to browse through and buy.
“Everybody struggles to come up with something original,” said David Harris, the manager of Dundas Indoor Market. “So here’s your chance if you want to give a present this year that’s more personal and a bit different.”
The Handmade and Vintage Market is just one of the reasons to visit Dundas in December.
The Indoor Market – home to more than 25 local independent traders – is open on Sundays, a special Monthly Market takes place from 20-22 December, and underground parking is free every day for shoppers arriving after 3pm.
This is also the last Christmas Danny McCluskey of Danny’s Family Butchers will be providing his fantastic high-quality meats to grace your table. He is hanging up his apron next year after working as a butcher for 55 years.
Meanwhile Michelle Jones has returned to Dundas, selling and engraving pens, bracelets, lockets, lighters and memorials. Also back is Traidcraft, which is based in the former Boyes shop and will be selling festive fair-trade goods.
Regular visitors to the Dundas Centre will already have noticed that is taking part in Middlesbrough’s “Walking with The Snowman” trail. Until the New Year, alongside 11 other town centre locations, it is home to a giant snowman sculpture celebrating Raymond Briggs’ magical classic story The Snowman™.
There is also an opportunity to take part in two festive competitions. Great prizes are available for the best Christmas card you can design.
“We’re looking forward to a busy few weeks and there really is going to be something for everybody here at Dundas,” said David Harris.
