Miller Homes House Type Nominated for National Award

Miller Homes are celebrating after their Tolkien house type at Croston Meadow, Leyland has been nominated for a First Time Buyer Award.

The 3-bedroom home is through to the national finals in the ‘Best First Time Buyer Family Home’ of the year, competing against other homes from around the country. The Tolkien’s unique three storey design was cited as a decisive reason for the nomination – giving buyers the space and flexibility to adapt the home to the changing needs of their family as they grow. Leyland’s excellent local schools and quality community facilities were highlighted – from the selection of unique local businesses to the peaceful green spaces.

Clare Noakes, Sales Director at Miller Homes in the North West, comments: “We’re delighted to be nominated and through to the finals of the First Time Buyer Readers’ Awards. The Tolkien at Croston Meadow really is a perfect first family home. It offers plenty of space and, with that, versatility, and Croston Meadow is a wonderful place for children to grow up with Leyland’s rural riverside walks and Worden Park on the doorstep.”

The First Time Buyer Readers Awards, now in their 10th year, celebrate the best in the property market to celebrate the lengths gone to in order to help aspirational buyers onto the housing ladder. A panel of highly experienced industry experts judge the initial first-round, with the winners then decided by an official online readers’ vote. The overall winners will be announced at an awards ceremony in London, hosted by TV celebrity Nicki Chapman, in April.

Lynda Clark, editor of FTB Magazine comments: “Our highly acclaimed annual awards really do offer an insight into the first time buyer housing market and highlight the lengths that some companies go to offer support for new homebuyers. First time buyers continue to drive the property market and so it is essential that the industry supports those less experienced buyers when buying their first home. As the average age of first time buyers increase, we are now seeing many young families requiring their first home and this means they are looking for more space, quality and excellent value for money.”

Located less than two miles from the centre of Leyland, Croston Meadow offers a range of 3- and 4-bedroom homes in a neighbourhood which blends rural living with the convenience of local amenities.
