Multiple lettings follow upgrade for one of Leeds’ largest industrial estates, Gildersome Spur

Orchard Street Investment Management (Orchard Street), owners of Gildersome Spur Industrial Estate, has just completed the fifth letting in 12 months, following multiple unit refurbishments at the 25-acre site, five miles south of the city centre.

Gildersome Spur is one the largest and most successful single owned industrial estates in Yorkshire. Built in 1970, it has 27 industrial and warehouse units which between them cover almost 470,000 sq ft.

Over the past 12 months, Orchard Street has extensively refurbished five of the properties replacing roofs and adding a range of eco-efficient features such as photovoltaic panels, air source heat pumps, LED lighting and electric vehicle charging points. One further refurbishment is currently on site.

Commenting of the completion of the refurbishment scheme, Hazel Cooper of marketing agents Carter Towler said: “It’s fantastic to see the estate’s owner’s on-going commitment to maintaining the quality of the units and the infrastructure of the site as a whole. Their latest round of investment has focussed on ensuring important ESG credentials are achieved. All the refurbished units which range in size from 8,000 – 20,000 sq ft have now been let.”

The new occupiers include: Kingfisher Windows who have taken two units, B & K Flooring, AHT Holdings and Panel UK. The remaining unit has now been let to Duftons Plumbing and Heating Supplies, setting a new headline rent, that will move in once the refurbishment is completed in Q4.

Paul Mack of joint agents GV & Co added: “Gildersome Spur has an excellent track record and for good reason. Not just because of the exceptional location but because of all the other benefits such as the well-appointed modern industrial accommodation, ample parking areas, and the secure and actively managed estate. By continuing to invest in their properties, Orchard Street are very wisely enhancing the value of their assets and the potential returns they will reap.”
