Proteus Facades, the leading designer and manufacturer of Rainscreen Cladding Systems for building envelopes, is celebrating after reaching the final in multiple categories of the prestigious 2020 Façade Awards UK.
The company, based in Skelmersdale, has received nominations for nine construction projects, all shortlisted across five categories. These include, Best New Build Project, Best Refurbishment Project, Best use of a Rainscreen System Using Aluminium, Best use of a Rainscreen System using Stainless Steel and Best use of Rainscreen Using Specialist Metal.
Organised by Roofing, Cladding & Insulation (RCI) magazine, the highly respected industry trade journal, the awards recognise the very best in façade design across the UK and aim to promote the creative and innovative use of products or materials.
For each project shortlisted, Proteus Facades designed and fabricated a bespoke building envelope system based on the client’s requirements; before each one was fixed in place by a team of leading installation experts, all of whom have also been shortlisted alongside the company.

Due to current regulations surrounding the Coronavirus pandemic, the Façade Awards UK will be held as a live-stream event on Friday 11 February 2021. The time of the event is yet to be announced.
Lee Caffrey adds: “Although we won’t get to attend a glittering evening as we would have hoped due to the current pandemic, we are looking forward to watching the live final together as a team, whilst social distancing of course, to find out who will take the top spot in each category. We are shortlisted alongside a number of fantastic businesses and wish them all the best of luck.”

The company operates from a state-of-the-art production facility and has recently made a significant investment in its machinery, adding a Homag Beam Saw and a huge, high quality Mantech 8000mm and 2000mm CNC router, alongside new racking to increase storage space.
All rainscreen cladding systems manufactured by Proteus Facades are to internationally recognised quality standards, using the highest quality materials, in accordance with its BSI ISO accredited Business Management System for Quality, Environmental and Health & Safety.
