Handcrafted Kentucky straight bourbon whiskey, Rebel Yell, is searching for the UK’s best bourbon bartender, with the chance to win a visit to its state-of-the-art distillery on the Bourbon Trail during the Kentucky Bourbon Festival in September.
Budding bartenders of Yorkshire with high hopes for rebellion success need to submit a ‘Lucky 7s’ combination – a Rebel Yell-based cocktail using no more than seven ingredients and taking no longer than seven minutes to make. Entrants must complete their entry and submit via the Rebel Yell Bourbon Battle website by Sunday May 12th, 2019.
A winner will be chosen from each of the regional semi-finals:
– Scotland (McPhabbs in Glasgow, May 28th)
– North of England (The Lost & Found in Leeds, May 29th)
– South of England (Milroy’s in London’s Soho, May 31st)
The three finalists will then shake it out at a ‘Bourbon Battle’ in London on June 17th, with the ultimate UK winner heading to Lux Row Distillers in Kentucky, US, where Rebel Yell is distilled, for the global competition final, which takes place on September 19th.
The winner of the overall competition will enjoy a once-in-a-lifetime grand prize of hand-selecting a Rebel Yell barrel to take home, equivalent to 60 x bottles, with Master Blender and Head Distiller, John Rempe, at Lux Row Distillers.
