Wonderful unveils new and improved fundraising platform

After spending a year proving the concept of a fundraising platform that delivers 100% of donations and gift aid to designated charities, Wonderful is unveiling a new platform. The new Wonderful fundraising platform will provide users with a fast, intuitive experience.

“We’ve made a huge investment in the technology” said founder Kieron James. “Before we approached our sponsor for funds, we wanted to hit three milestones: £100,000 donated through the website, 100 charities signed up and an event which people could rally around.” Wonderful hit the third milestone with Wonderful Week fronted by Phil Neville last September and development work started on the new platform, which went live during the Easter bank holiday weekend.

Wonderful will use AWS cloud services to allow the platform to scale seamlessly during big events like the London Marathon, allowing high volumes of simultaneous transactions. The six-month development window included a complete design makeover so that the platform will provide a market leading user experience combined with the innovative backend technology.

The new website will have enhanced features to make it easier for charities to set up campaigns and fundraisers to raise money for their chosen causes. This includes greater mobile integration and dynamic search.

Kieron James, added: “The original platform provided a solution, but this is the launch of Wonderful.org as a platform that can compete with the market leaders. The important difference is that we charge our corporate sponsors for the technology – not fundraisers, donors or charities.

“Technology becomes more affordable all the time. I hope the newly launched site will demonstrate that raising money through fundraising platforms which take a percentage of the charitable funds is simply not the best option.”
