Yorkshire homeless charity hosts annual Christmas raffle

Simon on the Streets Christmas raffle

Yorkshire homeless charity, Simon on the Streets, has launched its annual Christmas raffle featuring an array of prizes.

The charity, which works with local people who are affected by homelessness and rough sleeping in Leeds, Bradford and Huddersfield, hosts the raffle every Christmas with the support of businesses kindly donating prizes.

The prizes include a box for Disney on Ice at Leeds First Direct Arena (donated by KPMG), two return flights to any European destination with Jet2, a one-night stay at the Double Tree Hilton in Leeds, Penhaligon’s new Portraits fragrance and many more.

Gordon Laing, general manager of Simon on the Streets commented:

“We’re so grateful to all the businesses that have donated towards our Christmas raffle so far, it’s great to see such a wide range of firms offering their products and services to raise money to help those in need.

“Last years raffle was fantastic and a great way to raise awareness and get more people involved with the charity, we’re constantly working hard to improve the lives of rough sleepers across West Yorkshire and appreciate the support of businesses and the local community.”

Established in 1999 Simon on the Streets is an independent charity which relies solely on sponsorship, fundraising and donations. It offers street-support to individuals who have complex needs and cannot access mainstream services, due to behavioural issues or mental illness.

Last year’s raffle raised more than £2000 towards the charity’s vital work.
Tickets for the draw cost just £1 and can be purchased by cash or bank transfer. To purchase tickets, email [email protected]

Winners will be announced on 17 December, more details can be found on the Simon on the Streets website.
