Global Wanderings: Cheshire PR Agency Promotes Intern to Travel for 6-Months

Arriba Arriba…A Cheshire-based PR agency specialising in travel and tourism has launched its first ‘Global Wanderings’ internship programme. Three Little Birds PR, founded by Sheila Manzano has developed the innovative concept to give interns an opportunity to see more of the ‘world outside the office’.

The opportunity has been awarded to Natalie Took who has been working at the agency since February, 2017. As the author of her own travel blog https://natpacker.com, Sheila wanted to give Natalie an opportunity to progress her own personal ambitions to see more of the world, develop her travel blog and gain more travel-related experiences which would be applied once back in the office.

The idea originated when Sheila reflected on her own career path. Years before setting up the PR agency, Sheila had faced rejection when applying for some travel-related jobs due to ‘having spent too much time travelling’ and found this really baffling when working with the travel industry. A decade on, Sheila manages her own PR agency specialising in travel and advocates ‘global wanderings’
build confidence, develop communication skills and enhances geographical knowledge; all of which benefit the individual, company and its clients.

Sheila’s desire is to grow an engaged and loyal team in the business; helping them perform to the best of their ability in the job and having people of the team that exude a passion for travel.

Having spent more than 20 years working and living around the world herself, Sheila considers them her ‘university’ years; where she learnt first-hand more about people, customs, culture and some of the key life skills. This experience, she claims has been key in managing a successful PR agency and delivering results for the agency’s client-base.

“Working in travel PR, I would expect people to have a passion for travel, but it is such a cliché. Real passion is more than a generic claim on a CV, so when Nat was day dreaming over some of the destinations feature on our clients’ portfolios, I had the idea to offer Natalie a chance to see more of the world”.

Natalie will be travelling for a period of 6 months to Mexico; a destination chosen by herself. Sheila, who spent 2 years living and working in Central America was delighted with Natalie’s choice of destination. “I’ve some great memories for my days in Central America; it’s a special part of the world. Natalie will get the chance to learn a new language, visit incredible places and immerse herself into the Latin culture”.

Natalie said “I love working at Three Little Birds PR and I’ve learnt so much in the last 6 months. The team are so well travelled so when Sheila offered me this opportunity I was excited and of course it’s nice to know that I’ll have a great job to come back to where I can share my knowledge of my travels”.

Three Little Birds PR is keen to hear from travel operations with a similar demographic to @natpacker who would like to discuss collaboration on the project. Natalie will include blog posts and social media activity and will work with partners who wish to work with as an Influencer.

Natalie will commence the adventure in October this year. Sheila concludes “we believe Natalie will come back with a wealth of experience that will help her in her role as she is at the beginning of her PR career with Three Little Birds PR”.
