Howarth Litchfield boosts interiors team with dual appointment

Award-winning architectural practice, Howarth Litchfield (HL), has announced the arrival of two new interior designers to support the expansion of its highly experienced team.

Nickie Lindsay, who joins as senior interior designer, worked in London on commercial office design projects for several years and is particularly proud of her contribution to the interiors of the London HQ of professional services firm, PwC. Aside from this, she has been back in the region for almost five years adding to her experience with several design and build projects as well as developing a good track record in leisure and healthcare projects.

Polly Dodsworth, who has a First-Class Honours degree in interior architecture, is distinguished by being the first student in 45 years to score 100% in her final year project at Teesside University, winning her the Leni Oglesby award for achievement. She has also completed her MA in Digital Arts and Design and graduated this month, which she believes will give her an edge within the sector.

Nickie and Polly were keen to take up their appointments, seeing HL as not only a good place to further develop both personally and professionally, but were also attracted by the prestigious, multi-discipline projects the firm handles, which provide greater scope for creative freedom.

Commenting on their appointment, Nickie said: “We are both delighted to be joining such a successful and committed firm. We are working on some very exciting projects and it is a fantastic opportunity to not only draw on our experience but add to it with the wide range of interiors projects currently underway.”

Both designers are currently hard at work on a UK-wide development programme of flexible office interiors for Regus, the world’s largest provider of flexible workspace solutions.

Jonathan Yates, HL’s managing director, added: “The arrival of Nickie and Polly could not have come at a better time. Not only are they exceptionally talented candidates, the practice is extremely busy on several major interior design projects, so they are a timely and very welcome addition to our in-house team. I have every confidence that they will make a significant contribution to our further success and expansion in the future.”
