My Possible Self launches new podcast series with world-leading experts in mental health and wellbeing

My Possible Self, the mental health and wellbeing app, is launching a series of podcasts featuring conversations with world-leading mental health experts, thought leaders, influencers and ambassadors to continue on its mission to help users improve their mental health and wellbeing.

The first podcast is released to coincide with World Suicide Prevention Day on Friday September 10 and features Professor Rory O’Connor, author of When It Is Darkest: Why People Die by Suicide and What We Can Do to Prevent It and president of the International Association for Suicide Prevention, and Alice Hendy, founder of R;pple, an online monitoring tool designed to present a visual prompt when users search for harmful keywords or phrases. The podcast is available exclusively via My Possible Self free-of-charge app or website.

The full series will be released in the lead-up to World Mental Health Day on October 10 and features Alastair Campbell, the journalist and mental health campaigner, Dr Hilary Jones, the GP and TV presenter, Owen O’Kane, the psychotherapist and author, Joshua Fletcher, the counsellor and author, Kate Burnett, the medical doctor and executive coach, Tom Curran, the social psychologist and perfectionism expert, Grace Quantock, the writer and counsellor, Carmine Pariante, the professor of biological psychiatry and consultant perinatal psychiatrist, and Hana and Fleur Wilkinson, directors of My Possible Self. These episodes will be available via the My Possible Self app and usual podcast hosting sites including Apple, Spotify and Google.

The series is hosted by international broadcaster Gabby Sanderson. She said: “The power of these conversations, I hope, will help a lot of people. Those both in and out of the public eye have given their time so generously speaking about deeply personal matters in the mental health and wellness space. There are those who are mental health experts by profession and those by lived experience and listeners will hear from both.”

Gabby’s presenting credits include 1059 The Rock for US commercial radio giant iHeartMedia, XFM, Kerrang! Radio, RTÉ 2XM, Ibiza Rocks and the International Radio Festival.

Hana and Fleur Wilkinson, directors of My Possible Self, said: “We are delighted to launch this new podcast series. We want to open up these topics for conversation, reduce the stigma around talking about all elements of mental health and increase awareness of My Possible Self as a freely available resource for helping people during difficult times.”
