Kind Currency Named In Small Biz 100 Today

Small Business Saturday has announced its 100 lucky businesses who will feature in this year’s Small Biz 100 calendar.

And today, on the 27th September, one of the North East’s newest but most promising small Community Interest Companies, Kind Currency will be heralded.

In the Small Biz 100 calendar, 100 companies are highlighted, one a day, for 100 days. In its eight year the 100 have not only received exposure on Small Business Saturday’s social media channels, in the local and national press, and they have also joined the Small Business Saturday team in London at receptions in Downing Street, House of Lords and the Treasury Drum with the Chancellor of the Exchequer.

Michelle Jones, founder of Kind Currency, is delighted to have been chosen. She said:

“It is real honour to be part of the campaign and be alongside other such worthy businesses. Small Business Saturday UK is a grassroots, non-commercial campaign, which highlights small business success and encourages consumers to ‘shop local’ and support small businesses in their communities. Exactly what Kind Currency is also about!

“The 100 campaign runs until December 4th which is officially Small Business Saturday, so do get behind it and support such a great campaign!”

Kind Currency aims to marry together conscious consumers with businesses who have a purpose or an aim to do good, all whilst creating a charity fund to support disadvantaged kind people and causes that society depends upon.

Michelle Jones, a disabled entrepreneur, is bringing her idea of Kind Currency to life, on the back of her own personal life story and the trials the world has witnessed the last few years and is calling out for all businesses in the region driven by purpose to get in touch.

Wanting to create an environment where people can be rewarded for being kind with their spending, Michelle came up with the App based business solution that will not only boost local economies and communities but also raise funds to remove barriers and provide opportunities in the region.

Unique in its positioning Kind Currency merges B2B, B2C and charitable activity all in one Community Interest Company which creates an economy of kindness to protect, sustain and celebrate, kind people, kind businesses and kind causes. Michelle concluded:

“We are currently at development stage; our website is live and we have a good number of North East businesses who have purpose all signing up to be part of the Kind Currency family. It is very exciting times and with the support of campaigns like Small Business 100, the future is looking bright for kind people!”
