Businesses in Beverley help boost housebuilding across Yorkshire

With new homes a top priority for councils across the UK, not least in Yorkshire, Barratt Developments Yorkshire East has announced new partnerships with seven local businesses, in a bid to boost housebuilding in the area and support the local economy.

Barratt Developments, which includes both the David Wilson and Barratt Homes brands, will be working with the subcontractors, which includes Yorkshire based businesses James Chadwick & Sons, Ray Skelton Ltd, Bromley RDG Ltd, Durkan & Sons Ltd, Lord & Downing Ltd, Jarvis & Womack Ltd and Horners Tiling Specialists Ltd, to support business growth and development in Beverley. The new business partnerships will also see Barratt Developments up-skilling teams and providing a variety of sub-contractor days in the New Year, which are designed to help local businesses plan to make the most of demand for new homes – helping to deliver much needed housing to the local community, whilst also benefiting the local business economy.

Steven Doyle, Commercial Director at Barratt Developments Yorkshire East, commented:
“There’s no denying that there’s a housing shortage across Yorkshire, so it’s our responsibility to work with the councils and local businesses to help provide the much needed quality homes our communities require. We choose to work with local sub-contractors, because it guarantees that the communities we are building in benefit from our presence.

“For us, building homes isn’t just about providing houses, it’s about creating desirable and long lasting communities that will benefit residents for years to come. Working with local people is a key element of this vision, so we’re absolutely delighted to be working with these seven businesses who are new to us, and seeing how our continued development has a positive impact on these companies throughout 2017.”
