Leading independent property consultancy Carter Towler has promoted James Jackson to Associate Director, five years after he joined the firm as a graduate. James’ promotion reflects his significant contribution to Carter Towler’s market-leading office agency team, where he has established himself as one of the region’s most active and successful office agents. His performance has helped bring the Carter Towler office agency team a number of industry accolades over the past five years, including being named the most active agent in Leeds in the 2025 CoStar Awards. He has also been individually recognised as the most active dealmaker in Yorkshire and Humberside.

Clem McDowell, office agency director at Carter Towler, said: “James has come a long way since joining us as a graduate five years ago and his promotion to Associate Director is thoroughly deserved. He has become a key member of our agency team, and his track record speaks for itself. His recognition by Estates Gazette and CoStar is testament to the volume and quality of deals he is delivering, while he has also built strong relationships with clients who trust him to get the job done.

“It is fantastic to see him progress through the business and I’m looking forward to seeing what he achieves in the next stage of his career with Carter Towler.”

James is currently working on a number of significant office agency instructions across Leeds, including 8 St Paul’s Street, the new headquarters for insurance brokers W Denis. Following the redevelopment of the building, around 9,200 sq ft of amenity-led, prime Grade A office accommodation is available to let in Leeds city centre.

Another major instruction is 3 Embankment, where James and the team are marketing around 35,000 sq ft of Grade A riverside office space following the completion of a comprehensive refurbishment earlier this year.

James is also involved in the office agency team’s new instruction at White Rose Park, where Carter Towler is marketing the next phase of leasing at the established business campus.

James added: “I’m really pleased to have been promoted to Associate Director and to have reached this point after five years with Carter Towler.

“Joining as a graduate gave me the opportunity to learn from some very experienced people and develop my career within a business with a great reputation in the Yorkshire market.

“The last few years have been incredibly busy and I’m looking forward to building on that momentum, taking on more responsibility and continuing to deliver strong results for our clients.”

Carter Towler employs around 60 people across its offices in Leeds, York and Durham.

Established 75 years ago, the firm is consistently recognised as one of West Yorkshire’s leading commercial property dealmakers across all sectors.

Alongside its market-leading agency team, Carter Towler manages more than 5,000 properties nationwide, while its building consultancy has overseen projects valued at more than £1.4m over the past 12 months, its valuations team has completed more than 300 property valuations.
