Chambers UK 2019 Guide reinforces Keebles’ expertise

Multi-award winning and expanding regional firm: Keebles’ partner Paul Trudgill.

The skill and experience of Keebles’ multi-award winning Corporate and Commercial department is reflected in its Band 2 ranking in Chambers UK 2019 guide.

Prolific dealmakers Matt Ainsworth, who heads the corporate team, and partner Paul Trudgill, are also singled out for their expertise. The department’s lawyers regularly advise a variety of businesses, from start-ups and early stage ventures to public companies and large multinationals, as well as investors and funders.

One of the biggest departments of its kind in Yorkshire, the team retained its coveted Law Firm of the Year title at the Sheffield City Region 2018 Dealmakers Awards. Eight deals in which Keebles acted were shortlisted – with three of them clinching top accolades.

Also receiving a coveted Band 2 ranking is the firm’s highly experienced Family Law department whose head, Vanessa Fox, is also recommended. Trained as a mediator and in the collaborative process, Vanessa has dealt with wide-ranging family issues including children proceedings, financial proceedings, cohabitee and property issues – and care proceedings brought by the Local Authority.
Her breadth and depth of knowledge in family cases is acknowledged to be very wide.

The practice’s 23-strong commercial property team – headed by Richard Smith and recognised as one of Yorkshire’s leading property practices – is once again ranked. It’s extensive experience is called on by SMEs, corporates, investors, developers, retailers, bankers, investment managers and tenants.

Also applauded is Keebles’ corporate banking and finance team whose services include handling transactional banking work, refinancing mandates and security issues. Lawyers also act for lenders and borrowers on loans, development funding, corporate transactional funding, invoice discounting and equity investments.

The Chambers rankings follow a wealth of strong recommendations from the Legal 500 UK 2018-2019 guide which reflects Keebles strong performance in a milestone year.

The guide awards Tier 2 rankings to the Corporate and Commercial department along with the Commercial Property, Litigation and Dispute Resolution, Insolvency and Corporate Recovery and Employment departments.

Said Keebles’ partner, Paul Trudgill: “Both Chambers and Legal 500 guides recognise our continued success as a multi-award winning and expanding regional firm which continues to go from strength to strength.”
