An international multi-fuel provider with plans for expansion and job creation has chosen Newcastle as a location for its new office.
PROBIO Energy International has moved into The Core at Newcastle Helix as it looks to expand its business, which already operates in the UK, Europe and the Far East.
The company maximises recycling and recovery rates by providing many types of alternative fuels that would otherwise go to waste. The team are experts in not only processing and providing alternative fuels but also equally in their management and handling, ensuring timely delivery to all clients.
PROBIO Energy International chose Newcastle thanks to its transport links for international travel and the shared expertise available at Newcastle Helix. Recruitment has already begun at the new office with further expansion of the team planned moving forward.
Invest Newcastle, a service delivered by NewcastleGateshead Initiative, supported PROBIO Energy International’s move into the city. The team at Invest Newcastle worked with PROBIO Energy International to identify suitable premises in the city and provide network introductions.
Kris Baker-Rain, director of PROBIO Energy International, said: “Newcastle city centre has a real buzz about it and a brilliant network of diverse people and businesses. With us operating internationally it was also important that we could travel easily to our clients and Newcastle has great transport links thanks to the airport.
“With its innovative thinking towards reducing carbon emissions and future city problems, Newcastle Helix has been somewhere of interest to us as a company for well over a year. The site is looking at future problems of the city such as renewable energy and this complements our vision to educate people on giving waste an afterlife.
“Moving forward our aim is to increase our exports as new waste-to-energy plants come online and grow in less traditional markets, such as Eastern Europe. We’re also looking to increase our supply to UK biomass plants and ultimately grow the business in terms of staff and turnover.”
