Digital Agency Secure Teesside Student Talent Through New Initiative

Recruitment initiative leads to full time employment for Teesside students

Thornaby based digital marketing agency, Acquiro Digital has enjoyed a significant expansion over the last 12 months. Originally a two-person operation based in Stockton-on-Tees, the company has recently moved into new offices in Thornaby with 25 staff members. The expansion follows an initiative set-up by the company to offer paid work experience to students at Teesside University. Four students on the BSc Web Production course are currently employed within the agency, with flexible hours to work around their course commitments. The initiative ensures that students can gain real workplace experience whilst working with specialists in the field. With full support and training offered by Acquiro Digital, these placements are set to turn into full-time employment for the students once their course has finished.

Creative Director, Rikky Pink is in charge of the current intake of students at Acquiro Digital

“There is exceptional talent in the North East, especially within our student community. By offering paid work experience we have been able to secure outstanding students who are able to put their skills to work on live projects, working with clients and helping us grow as a team by bringing their own unique knowledge to the table”

In 2019, Acquiro is set to continue this scheme, offering paid work experience across a wide range of disciplines including web design and development, online marketing and copywriting. The agency has recently been shortlisted for Best Small Agency at the upcoming Prolific North Awards, the award recognises agencies that are excelling within the industry and the winner will be announced at the ceremony in May.

The nomination follows recent appointments to the Acquiro Digital board, with SEO specialists Chris and Kat Foster, PPC specialist Neil Moody and creative lead, Rikky Pink, taking director positions at the company.

Acquiro CEO, Philip Hankinson spoke about the future of the agency.

“It’s been a really great year for the team. When you consider that we are still in our infancy, we have managed to secure lucrative contracts with global brands and expand the team significantly. With the recent board appointments, I’m confident that we will continue to grow over the next few months and look forward to adding more talent to the company”
