The Yorkshire Mafia (YM), one of the largest networks of senior professionals in the country, has appointed Janie Gonsalez as Business Development Executive.
Having previously worked as a part-time Events Assistant as well as writing and editing for a student magazine, Janie will assist with the planning of the YM’s year-round schedule of activities whilst nurturing both new and existing client relationships.
In addition, with the YM team now working more closely with sister company, iSource Group, Janie will use her experience to support with the launch of a national network of ‘Think’ roundtable events, which bring together IT professionals to share best practice, while discussing and debating developments within the industry.
Janie comments: “I love the fast-paced nature of the events planning process and working on Leeds Business Week, which was my first large event with the YM. It gave me a great insight into what I can expect going forward and was a perfect opportunity to roll my sleeves up and get stuck in. I know we have an exciting year planned, with plenty to work on in the pipeline!”
Holding an MA in Media and Communications, alongside an undergraduate degree in English Language and Literature, Janie’s appointment supports the strategic expansion of the business which will see it pursue an extended networking programme to suit the needs of its membership, including a dedicated women’s event in Harrogate.
