Garstang Cricket Club are celebrating this month after local housebuilder Miller Homes have sponsored their All Stars programme.
Garstang Cricket Club were looking to further fund their programme to get youngsters in the area excited about cricket. Miller Homes, who strive to support the communities in which they have developments, saw it as a great opportunity and jumped at the chance to support the club located near to their new Beacon Park development on Joe Lane, Catterall.
The England and Wales Cricket Board launched the programme last year, which was the first nationwide entry-level participation programme for the sport for both boys and girls aged five to eight. With the new sponsorship, local children who sign up will receive a cricket ‘back pack’ delivered to their door with a bat, ball and everything they need to try the game for the first time.

Garstang Cricket Club is a great institution and offers a lot to the community, so we are delighted to be able to sponsor their All Stars programme to help bring the sport to the next generation.”
Ray Riley from the Garstang Cricket Club, adds: “We were thrilled when Miller Homes came forward to sponsor the All Stars programme as they’re a great supporter of the local community and this has been a big help for our new young players. We can now start to work with local children to teach them how to play the game in a fun, safe and inclusive environment.”
