Hundreds raised for charity as Yorkshire PR firm celebrates fourth birthday

An award-winning PR agency has raised almost £1000 for a local homelessness charity following a celebration of four successful years in business.

More than 60 guests donned their party wear to attend the unique event, hosted by Leeds-based MacComms, raising over £700 for Simon on the Streets as a result.

The event, which took place at Leeds Corn Exchange on Thursday 16th May, provided MacComms with the chance to showcase some of its client’s products whilst raising money for the worthy cause.

Guests enjoyed music from classic and vinyl jukebox manufacturers Sound Leisure and award-winning gin from Cooper King Distillery, both of which MacComms supports.

Thanks to prize donations from a range of local businesses, MacComms organised a balloon-pop raffle, further contributing to the final amount raised.

MacComms is founded and run by award-winning businesswoman Ellie MacDonald who has more than 10 years’ PR and marketing experience.

Since its launch in 2015, MacComms has helped hundreds of firms to raise their profile, supporting clients across tech, manufacturing, food and drink, including The Car Buying Group, Leeds Corn Exchange and Vet-AI.

Over the past four years in business, MacComms has raised thousands of pounds for charity and it remains part of the business aims and values as it progresses into its fifth year.

Founder and managing director of MacComms, Ellie MacDonald, commented:

“It’s been a tough four years but there have been some incredible highlights and I’m really proud of what my business has become.

“We now represent some of the most impressive businesses in the country, all of which come out of Yorkshire.

“I couldn’t have done it without the support of some incredible people and I’m so grateful to have been joined by dozens of people to celebrate success and help raise vital funds for the charity close to my heart.”

Ellie ended the evening with an emotional speech about her passion to support the charity and thanked her portfolio of clients for their support with raising vital funds.
