An experienced clinical negligence lawyer has joined the Leeds office of Ison Harrison, bolstering the team and bringing additional specialist expertise to the region.

Anne Robertson joins the firm from DAC Beachcroft LLP where she defended clinical negligence claims. Prior to this she acted for claimants at firms in Doncaster, Huddersfield and Leeds.

Anne has many years’ experience as a clinical negligence solicitor after qualifying in 2007. Before studying law, Anne worked for ten years as a nurse in Sheffield, specialising in cardiothoracic and general surgery, and anaesthetics. This experience means Anne can grasp complex medical issues quickly, yet is able to understand what her clients have experienced.

In her new role at Ison Harrison in Leeds, Anne will be responsible for a wide variety of clinical negligence cases resulting from nursing, surgical, clinician or GP neglect. Anne specialises in cases involving fatalities.

Anne said: “I’m excited to have joined such a progressive firm with a first-rate reputation for its clinical negligence work. I’m looking forward to working alongside the rest of the nationally recognised team to expand the firm’s expert clinical negligence offering, while assisting claimants in this specialist area of law.”

Ison Harrison is one of just three law firms in England and Wales recommended by national charity the Erb’s Palsy Group and the only law firm representing the Group in the North of England. Ison Harrison’s clinical negligence team is officially recognised as specialist in Erb’s Palsy cases and the team’s head of clinical negligence, James Thompson is the sole Erb’s Palsy Group recommended solicitor in the North.

James Thompson, added: “Ison Harrison is committed to recruiting the best legal professionals, ensuring our clients have the greatest possible access to legal expertise and we’re thrilled to welcome Anne to the team.

“Across our regional network of 12 offices, Ison Harrison has built a strong reputation for providing the best legal advice whilst empathising with the emotional difficulties and situations that clients find themselves in. Anne will be a major asset in providing an even more thorough clinical negligence offering.”

Anne, who is originally from Hampshire, has made Yorkshire her home for the last 25 years. She is married with two children and outside of work enjoys ballet, yoga, Formula One and running. Anne is currently in training for the Great North Run in September and will be raising funds for Tommy’s, a charity which provides research funding for premature birth, still birth and miscarriage.
