Leeds agency partners with brain tumour charity

The team at twentysix on Wear a Hat Day

A multi-award-winning Leeds digital agency has announced a new charity partnership for 2019.

The global agency, twentysix that has offices in Leeds, London and New York, has chosen Brain Tumour Research as its 2019 charity of choice.

Established in 2009, Brain Tumour Research is the only national charity in the UK dedicated to raising funds for continuous and sustainable scientific research into brain tumours, and is a leading voice calling for greater support and action for research into what scientists are calling the last battleground against cancer.

The charity is calling for an annual spend of £35m in order to improve survival rates and patient outcomes in line with other cancers such as breast cancer and leukaemia.

Organising multiple fundraising events over the year, the full-service agency got their thinking caps on and kicked off their first event for the charity on Wear A Hat Day. The firm donned their favourite and funny hats for the day, raising a total of £190 for the charity.

The agency has a number of other fundraising events planned, including a sweet and savoury bake sale this month.

Ryan Scott, Managing Director of twentysix commented:

“We’re proud to be supporting such an incredible charity this year that does vital work in funding research into brain tumours. This is an organisation close to our hearts, and we have exciting things planned for the year to help raise as much money as we can. To see so many of our team wearing hats in support of the charity was excellent.”

Sue Farrington Smith MBE, chief executive of Brain Tumour Research said:

“Brain tumours kill more children and adults under the age of 40 than any other cancer. Less than 20% of patients diagnosed with this devastating disease survive beyond five years, compared with an average of 50% across all cancers.

We are delighted that twentysix has chosen us as its charity of the year and look forward to further exciting activities and events in the pipeline.”
