Leeds based brand Accent Clothing were proud to take home the award for Menswear Independent of the Year for the prestigious Drapers Independent of the Year Awards.
The awards took place on 13th September at The Brewery in London as part of the Drapers ceremony which recognises the best independent retailers, brands and agencies throughout the UK and Ireland. This year saw their 27th ceremony running, with the series stretching back to their first celebration in 1990.
Accent Clothing, who are known for selling a range of premium menswear brands, won the award for Menswear Independent of the Year. Judges said “this winner is a good business with a great history. Surviving through hard times in a competitive area, a lovely store design and their support of the local community make it a clear winner.”
The event was a chance for some of the best names in the industry to have an afternoon of networking, and before the awards were given out everyone got to enjoy a three-course lunch and drinks to begin the celebrations. Fifteen awards were presented and, while some did not come away with an award, they were highly commended for their contribution in the category.
