Leeds based I.T. company sets out ambitious growth plans with key new appointment and office expansion

Leeds based I.T. service and support company, Claritas Solutions, has announced plans to increase its revenue by 50% over the next three years following the appointment of a new director and new office premises.

The company, which was set up in 1997 and is this year celebrating its 21st birthday, has appointed Director of Digital Services, Barry Alston, to help steer the ambitious growth strategy and recently acquired a new office in Wetherby to accommodate its growing workforce which has seen a 15% increase in the last 12 months.

Barry, who joins Claritas from independent charity, Victim Support, has worked client side with the team at Claritas for over 6 years. His appointment is the first in this area for the business and will help set them apart from many of their competitors.

Following a large contract win, of which Barry played a key role, public sector projects will form an integral part of the Claritas business growth strategy over the next 3 years.

Barry said: “I’ve worked in and around the public sector all of my career. Claritas’ ethical approach to delivering service into that sector sets us apart.

“Outsourcing in the public sector doesn’t always meet expectations. At Claritas we believe passionately in building proper partnerships which we’ve proven time and time again makes a real difference to the companies we work with.

“With my experience and background, I aim to bring this message of real partnership to a wider public sector audience whilst at the same time maintaining the Claritas ethos.”

And after spending 25 years within the public sector, he is looking forward to the new challenges ahead.

Barry added: “Before taking the job with Claritas, I knew a lot about the business. Having worked with them at Victim Support I had a good understanding of how they operated and liked what I saw. They quickly came to Victim Support’s rescue in a time of need and since then I’ve continued to develop a relationship with the team. I was always impressed by the level and breadth of knowledge across the Claritas team and now, working in the business itself, I’ve got to see just how skilled and dedicated they are.

“The transition from customer to supplier has required a different mindset and a different way of thinking for me. In I.T. it’s a lot about listening to the customer and what the customer needs, so many of the skills I acquired while working for Victim Support and the public sector are transferable and will be hugely beneficial.”

Barry will be based at Claritas’ new offices in Wetherby which have been well equipped to meet the requirements of its clients’ business and provides effective workspace with room for further expansion.

On the expansion plans and appointment, Kirsty Sutton, Financial Director at Claritas, said: “We have big plans for Claritas over the next few years and we’ve put the wheels in motion with Barry’s appointment and our new office to ensure we reach our 50% revenue increase by 2021. Barry’s skills and experience set us apart, and we plan to increase the work we’re doing across the public sector with his support.”
