Leeds-based start-up enters Dragons Den

Sarah Agar-Brennan of Love Bomb Cushions

Sarah Agar-Brennan from Leeds-based Love Bomb Cushions will be featuring this week in one of the nation’s favourite BBC Two programmes Dragons’ Den. Love Bomb Cushions are pitching for investment from the notorious Dragons in the hope of realising their dreams.

Watch the highs and lows of Sarah’s journey in the Dragons’ Den. This gripping episode is one to watch. Sarah tells the story of the emotional journey she and her husband Carl have gone on to achieve their dream of running their own company.

From a pyjama idea for her daughter’s birthday surprise into a growing business the rollercoaster ride is revealed.

It started with a kiss…literally.  Founder, Sarah Agar-Brennan was shopping around for ideas for her teenage daughter’s birthday and stumbled across emoji pillows from China. It took her several attempts to get them delivered as they kept getting lost in international post but once they arrived they were an instant hit, all her friends wanted one and so the craze began.

The quality of those ordered was poor so Sarah decided to search for a higher quality product. Having been unable to find the right standard of cushion, Sarah took it on herself to source a factory to provide higher finishing and textiles standards. The size of the pillow range was also increased from the widely available 32cm to 36cm – more to cuddle and love.

Sarah established the business 18 months ago and husband Carl now acts as sales and operations director. The Leeds-based business is the only firm to hold the official emoji licence to stock these quality products.
