Leeds Digital Festival sponsor brings new experiences to the city in 2018

One of the main sponsors of Leeds Digital Festival 2018 is Manchester based technology and security company, VST Enterprises – but what exactly does it do?

In the lead up to the 12-day event, which starts on 16th April, locals will begin to notice the company’s scannable VCodes® appearing around the city. Easily scanned from over 100 metres away (even if you’re on the move), VCodes will be displayed on posters, billboards and digital screens. Impressively, 30% of a VCode can be hidden and it can still be scanned!

Doing so via the VCode app on Apple or Android devices will open up a world of information on the events and companies taking part in the festival, including a digital copy of the festival guide, so visitors can enjoy their experience and stay up-to-date with the latest announcements from their favourite digital innovators.

Louis-James Davis, CEO and founder of Manchester-based VST Enterprises, commented, “This year, Leeds Digital Festival is set to be the biggest and greatest showcasing of the region’s tech talent to date – and we’re proud to show our support and celebrate the immense innovation coming from the North.

“Attendees will unlock additional information on their favourite technologies, including the latest promotions and announcements, helping them get the most from their time at the festival.”

VCode has been described as the next generation of scanning technology. It delivers tailored information to each user with the convenience and speed required to get content quickly and easily. Unlike predecessors, including open-source QR codes, VCode is a secure, closed-loop system that does not store personal information in the cloud and reveals only pre-set information depending on the user, their location, and permissions.

Leeds Digital Festival director, Stuart Clarke, said: “We’re really excited to have VST Enterprises come on board this year. Festival-goers are in for a more engaging digital experience than ever before thanks to the VCode app – we’re looking forward to offering visitors a better way to interact with everything going on in Leeds during the twelve day festival.”

Alongside Leeds City Council and the University of Leeds, VST Enterprises is showing what the North has to offer by promoting and supporting more than 150 events taking place throughout the city.

VST Enterprises will also be hosting an exclusive drinks reception to bring together the region’s best and brightest innovators and creative minds from the digital community. To attend or hear more, just contact [email protected].
