White Rose Shopping Centre is introducing a brand new digital Nature Trail for families to experience in its outdoor leisure area, The Village.
The Nature Trail introduces visitors to the wildlife that can be found living around White Rose, from deer to kingfisher, each with their own interactive elements.
To enjoy the free Nature Trail, visitors use their mobile phone to find ‘hotspots’ around The Village. Each animal sculpture acts as a hotspot, and can be found one-by-one via the on-screen map. There are ten in total to be discovered.
Upon finding each animal, visitors can enjoy a variety of content including photos, videos, and short stories. There is also a selfie function to snap a picture at each spot, and special offers will be available as well.
The Nature Trail will be launched with a calendar of ‘forest school’ activity over Easter weekend. The White Rose play area will be decorated and families are invited to drop in and take part in craft and story-telling fun.
Steven Foster, General Manager of White Rose Shopping Centre, said: “We’re so excited to launch our Nature Trail – and just as the weather is brightening up too. We know that our visitors love our all-weather, under-cover play area, and we expect that families will enjoy the fun and educational Nature Trail just as much. You might be surprised how many diverse species have made White Rose their home.”
Tom Nield, Co-Founder of Landmrk – which created the trail for White Rose – added: “The Village at White Rose is such a great addition to a family day out, and the Nature Trail adds another dimension to this.
“It’s undeniable that young people are captivated by on-screen experiences. Partnering with White Rose has gifted us with the opportunity to harness this enjoyment and use it to encourage kids to get even more active and to learn from these experiences.”
The Nature Trail is free to use and is available now. The launch events take place on 18-20 and 22 April in The Village at White Rose.
