North East Agency Up For Top UK Award

Digital agency Evolved fly the flag for North East digital scene at national digital marketing awards.

A North East company started by two local entrepreneurs who returned to the area to launch their own digital marketing agency are celebrating once again after making it through to the finals of the UK’s biggest digital marketing and search award.

Last year the pair, who started Evolved Digital from a bedroom in Gosforth only three years ago, pulled off an unexpected win in the awards top category against stiff competition from some of the country’s largest agencies and household names like Debenhams, Currys and Go Compare.

On the back of a growing reputation, the agency has recently expanded its offices at Newcastle’s Toffee Factory and now employs almost 30 people in technical and creative roles. The company’s clients today include everything from local businesses to large FTSE 250 companies.

The final for this year’s awards will be hosted in late November by comedian Jimmy Carr and will be held at a glitzy event in London at the Ballroom South Bank. At the event Evolved will battle it out with agencies and companies from across the UK in 3 categories including the gong for the UK’s “Best Small Agency”.

Looking forward to the finals, the companies Digital Director David Watts explained that “As an agency we’re proud to be flying the flag for the North East within this important part of the digital industry. Areas like London and Manchester have for many years held the reputation for being the powerhouses of this sector, but we believe that the North East is a sleeping giant and that we have the talent and potential to challenge and beat the best the UK and Europe have to offer”
