Macclesfield business club to help business owners plan for ill health

Justine Clowes, Partner at SAS Daniels

The Business Club hosted by SAS Daniels and Harts Accountants has announced that its Spring event will help business owners and managers to create a ‘back up’ business plan that can be executed, should they suffer with long-term ill health or loss of mental capacity.

The event comes as shocking statistics reveal 40,000 people in the UK have dementia before they reach the age of 65.
The networking lunch will include a short talk led by mental capacity specialists Genevieve Powrie and Aalia Ijaz from SAS Daniels LLP, who will demonstrate how businesses can maintain performance if an unexpected absence occurs.

Business leaders attending the event will be given advice on how to ensure that a business continues running in their absence.

Justine Clowes, Partner and Joint Head of the Macclesfield Office at SAS Daniels said: “Running a business includes having to plan for the future. It’s important for business leaders to plan for unforeseen events, like illness, to make sure that the business can continue to operate at a time of crisis. This event will encourage owners and managers to create a backup plan and give them an opportunity to gain insight from our guest speakers on how to do this effectively.”

Genevieve has over 10 years’ experience specialising in legal issues including mental capacity, lasting powers of attorney, deputyship and court of protection matters while Aalia specialises in wills, trusts and lasting powers of attorney and is a fully qualified member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP).

Melissa Bowers from Harts said: “We look forward to welcoming both new and existing visitors to the next business club event. This continues to be a very popular networking event with informative speakers.”

Hosted by leading Cheshire law firm, SAS Daniels LLP, and Chartered Accountants Harts Limited, this well-established networking event gives professionals throughout Macclesfield and Cheshire a chance to build relationships with like-minded businesses, whilst gaining valuable insight from industry leaders.

The Business Club Spring event will be held on Wednesday 27th March from 11.45am to 2.00pm at The Tytherington Club, Macclesfield. Registration and networking will begin at 11.45am, followed by the guest speakers and a two-course lunch.

Tickets to the event can be purchased for £22 per person. To book your place call 01625 442100.
