Move makes commercial sense for Phil

Phil Hunter

Phil Hunter has joined rapidly expanding Partner as Commercial Director, bringing with him 20 year of experience in the construction sector.

Having originally studied accountancy, his route into the industry was through the finance department of a North East based global engineering operation.

However, he soon realised he wanted to work closer to the coal face and so, after a year out travelling, moved on to a housebuilding and refurbishment company and trained as a quantity surveyor.

There was an eighteen month spell on a government building project in Saint Lucia in the Caribbean, before a further five years in the North East commercial team of a national construction operation.

Phil, 38 and from Darlington, joins Partner – which has offices in Spennymoor, County Durham and Derby – at a time when the company looks set to double its housebuilding activity, anticipating the completion of 550 homes during 2019.

Specialising in building for registered housing providers, the business became part of the £140 million turnover Fastflow Group just over a year ago.

Said Phil: “I am delighted to be joining at such an exciting time. Partner is a company which has really caught my eye over the past couple of years and I am very much looking forward to supporting further growth and success.”
