MWA Lands Mirfield Lakes Project with Planning Approval

Martin Walsh Architectural (MWA), the Dewsbury based family-owned Architects, has been awarded the design contract for a new lakeside café development in Mirfield.

The proposed café, which overlooks a fishing lake and is just off Sands Lane, will also include an education classroom, a picnic and play area and a car park for 16 cars.

Working with Robert Halstead Planning Consultants and on behalf of the Chappelow family, MWA gained planning approval from Kirklees Council for the proposed 1184ft2 development.

Marcus Walsh, Director of Martin Walsh Architectural, comments: “We’re delighted to have been given the go ahead on this exciting project after an extensive planning application. The proposed lakeside café will offer perfect scenic views of the fishing lake and will become a great spot for all the family.”

Due to the proximity to a neighbouring fishing lake, permission follows an extensive planning application process which included an ecological survey. As part of the planning criteria, the development will also include a ‘refugia’ which will be built around the site of the café.

It is expected that work on the development will begin in October 2018.
