New Care opens Adel Manor

The Lord Mayor of Leeds is joined by Adel Manor's first resident Valerie Maunder and members of the New Care team

New Care, one of the UK’s fastest growing care home developers, has opened the doors to Adel Manor, a ‘new generation’ care home in Adel, worth circa £15m.

Located off Otley Road the new care facility, which is New Care’s first in Yorkshire, was expertly designed to suit the specific plot. New Care worked meticulously with the architect and clinical team, and closely with the local authority, to deliver a state-of-the-art care facility that will provide outstanding residential, nursing, dementia and respite care services.

The care facility features 74 fully furnished bedrooms, each with a private en suite wet room. There is a selection of communal lounges, dining rooms and quiet reading rooms, as well as spa assisted bathrooms, a nail bar and hairdresser.

Making the most of the picturesque semi rural views, Adel Manor features beautifully landscaped gardens and an outdoor terrace.

To celebrate the opening of Adel Manor, the Lord Mayor of Leeds, Cllr Asghar Khan, was invited to the care facility for an exclusive tour. The visit offered the Lord Mayor the opportunity to meet the New Care team based at Adel Manor, as well as the home’s first few residents.

The Lord Mayor officially cut the red ribbon and declared the care home open, assisted by Adel Manor’s first resident, Valerie Maunder, aged 76.

The Lord Mayor of Leeds, Cllr Asghar Khan, said: “I was delighted to be invited by New Care to officially open Adel Manor. It is a very welcoming environment with state of the art facilities and a great community ethos and spirit. I hope all the new residents settle into their new home quickly and have the opportunity to fully enjoy their new surroundings and the services on offer.”

Dawn Collett, Commissioning Director at New Care, adds: “We are thrilled to have opened our first care home in Yorkshire and it was a pleasure to welcome Cllr Asghar Khan to Adel Manor to look around the care facility, meet the team and learn more about the company.”

Adel Manor is New Care’s tenth care facility in the UK. In the coming 12 months, the care home will create approximately 100 jobs in multiple disciplines, from carers and nurses to hospitality, housekeeping, activities, maintenance and chefs.

In Spring 2023, New Care will open its second care facility in Yorkshire, in Guiseley on the former site of the redundant Richmond Garage. Practical completion of the 72 bed care home is planned for April.

Dawn adds: “Work is progressing well on site and we are very much looking forward to the development taking shape later this year, opening a second stunning care facility in the Guiseley Conservation Area.”

Part of the McGoff Group, New Care is one of the UK’s leading care home providers. Its portfolio of purpose-built ‘new generation’ care centres is fast gaining an enviable reputation for outstanding care that is second to none.
