New coffee lounge, restaurant and show apartments revealed at luxury retirement community in Menston, near Ilkley

Adlington Retirement Living has released photographs of the luxurious coffee lounge, homeowners’ lounge, restaurant and show apartments at its new retirement community in Menston, near Ilkley in West Yorkshire.

The Spindles, on Bradford Road, offers 72 stylish one, two and three-bedroom apartments for the over 60’s, in a safe and secure environment, with the benefit of patios or walk-out balconies to all apartments.

Alexandra Johnson, Sales and Marketing Director for Adlington Retirement Living, said: “We’re delighted with the interior design at The Spindles. Each of our retirement communities has a unique interior design scheme to ensure individuality and a fresh look for each launch. The coffee lounge and homeowners’ lounge look fantastic and we’re looking forward to welcoming our first homeowners to move in from May. In the meantime, the marketing suite is now open six days a week and we’re inviting anybody considering moving to a luxury retirement apartment at The Spindles to book a tour.”

The Spindles, in Menston, will be Adlington’s third retirement community in Yorkshire, following the successful launch of Jacobs Gate in Sheffield in 2020 and Adlington House in Otley in 2017.

Anne, an Adlington Retirement Living homeowner who moved to Jacobs Gate in December 2020, said: “I’ve absolutely done the right thing and probably should have done it a couple of years earlier. I’m very happy. I think partly it’s because I’ve got people around me. It’s lovely to be somewhere where things are happening. I feel as if I’ve joined life again rather than being locked away from it!”

Alexandra Johnson, Sales and Marketing Director for Adlington Retirement Living, said: “Our retirement communities are designed to empower the older generation to live a long, happy and healthy life in a safe and secure environment with activities, communal facilities and beautiful private gardens.

“Although we focus on the quality of our facilities, they’re about much more than the bricks and mortar of our apartments. We know that the most important things that make our homeowners really feel at home are having a good circle of friends, connections with like-minded neighbours and a sense of belonging.”

The Spindles will offer Menston residents the best of both worlds. Homeowners will be able to enjoy the privacy of their own peaceful and spacious apartment, spend time in the leafy gardens (maintained by an expert team of gardeners), relax in the hair salon, therapy suite or homeowners’ lounge and enjoy freshly cooked dishes daily in the restaurant. The communal facilities at Adlington Retirement Living communities are used as an extension of each homeowner’s individual apartment.

The 24-hour on-site support team will provide homeowners with added peace of mind and, if needed, optional personal care packages can be tailored to individual needs. In addition to this, there will be a sophisticated emergency call system and a security video entry system to manage access.

Four of Adlington’s sites have won Gold, Silver and Bronze Awards in recent years for the Best Retirement Development at the WhatHouse? Awards, the UK housebuilding’s most prestigious event.

Alexandra Johnson explains: “The judges praised our unique approach to independent living, which ensures Homeowners don’t have to compromise on their lifestyle, their social life or their independence. Our aim is to provide a community spirit, whilst promoting independence and individual respect. We offer a chance to become part of a flourishing community of like-minded people, with a shared outlook.”

Adlington Retirement Living was also crowned Seniors Housing Developer of the Year and its new retirement community in Heaton Mersey, Stockport, won Seniors Housing Scheme of the Year at the HealthInvestor Seniors Housing Awards 2022.
