Four jobs are being created with the launch of a new Bradford business aimed at fixing broken smartphone screens in just 10 minutes.
Angel Repair Limited, which is opening at Odsal, is a joint venture between long-standing city business Angel Telecom and Leeds-based Repair Lab.
Angel Telecom has been a trusted and reliable supplier of both business and personal mobiles to clients across Bradford and surrounding areas since 1987.
Managing Director Stuart Hudson (pictured, left) says: “‘We got our first mobile from here’ is a phrase I hear regularly when customers return for an upgrade.
“After 31 years in business, the phone in your pocket is unrecognisable from the original devices sold all those years ago – but so is its functionality and its importance.
“Your modern smartphone is a powerful handheld computer. It’s a method of payment, it’s a diary, it’s a camera, it’s a phone book, it’s a tracker, it’s a navigation system, it’s a games console…
“You can check your e-mails, your bank balance, how many calories you’ve burned, bus times, train times, plane times. You can order a pizza, buy tickets, book a holiday… the list goes on. You can even make phone calls!”
But when your phone is out of action you’re left feeling helpless, says Jack Higgins (pictured, right), formerly of Go Mobile, who owns Repair Lab, in Commercial Road, Kirkstall.
“Unfortunately, because of all the things we regularly use our smart phone for, when it isn’t working we are simply out of the loop,” he says. “No uploading pictures to Instagram, no Facebook status updates, no checking in, no photographs of our meals, no tweeting of our current thoughts….
“We are left like a social media leper…”
So the pair have now formed Angel Repair to help keep that downtime as short as possible, with their main service being tablet, computer and iPhone screen repairs.
“We aim to have most repairs completed within 10 minutes of the device being dropped off to us and our emphasis will be on the quality of workmanship through best the use of highest quality parts,” says Stuart.
“And all our repairs are supported by a 12-month warranty. Our aim is to make your repair journey as smooth as possible.”
Angel Repairs’ 2000 sq ft store premises are extremely well located at the top of Rooley Avenue, behind the Top House Pub, Next to Richard Dunn’s Sports Centre and opposite Odsal stadium. Their proximity to the M606 makes them easily accessible from surrounding areas. And they have plenty of free car parking right outside the door.
