iSource Group, the Leeds based recruitment company that specialises in IT and digital appointments for some of the UK’s leading brands, has announced the appointment of Non-Executive Directors, Andy Brown and Jon Newall, to the board of its recruitment operation and networking business The Yorkshire Mafia.
The specialist recruitment consultancy which also is the home of The Yorkshire Mafia membership organisation, has experienced substantial growth in recent years, doubling its turnover, while also setting its sights on becoming one of the leading niche recruitment services firms in the UK.
As a result, iSource Group’s Managing Director and Yorkshire Mafia Chairman, Geoff Shepherd, recognised the need to strengthen the board by appointing two new Non-Executive positions to help to guide the company through this transformational period and develop a strong five-year strategy to help to capitalise on the fantastic opportunity to build, develop and grow.
Geoff Shepherd comments: “When I made the decision to build up our board, I already had those people in mind. I knew that Andy and Jon would help me to meet with the challenges that lay ahead. I’ve worked with them both previously so I know that they have the experience, skills, approach and drive to help us to navigate through this growth period and develop a solid strategy to keep us heading in the right direction”.
With a CV that makes for impressive reading, Andy Brown has implemented successful change strategies as senior executive for companies such as ASDA, Boots, Sky TV and The Burton Group. He has also delivered large scale transformation programmes for businesses of all sizes across the UK and North America and was the interim Chief Executive that turned around Wakefield based YPO.
When asked about his new role, Andy Brown commented: “I’ve worked with Geoff previously on some innovative business projects, so when he asked me to join his board I said yes immediately and I’m pleased to be able to support the company. Geoff has an infinite capacity for doing amazing things and I’m excited to work with him and his senior team to create a roadmap for developing and building up the business over the longer-term.”

As well as developing a successful business, which has doubled in size in the last three-years and attracted an impressive collection of national awards, Jon has also built a brand that is becoming synonymous with specialist insurance needs of clients throughout the UK.
