North East law firm celebrates milestone year

A North East law firm is celebrating a milestone year of expansion and success, including significant turnover growth.

Emmersons Solicitors, which has offices in both Gosforth and Sunderland and has a reach across the region, has welcomed new members to the team and welcomed turnover increases of up to 74% across its departments.

In the past three years the firm has doubled in size and turnover, with year-on-year increases across several of its departments. Emmerson’s private client work department, which is made up of wills and probate, lasting power of attorney and family cases, with an increase of 74%. The residential and commercial conveyancing departments have both seen an increase of 35% in the last three years.

Emmersons Solicitors managing director, Jacqueline Emmerson, said: “We are delighted with how well the company is performing following a very exciting year for the team. We’ve welcomed some outstanding new team members which have gained some fantastic client feedback and further bolstered our growth.

“Despite the challenges surrounding all businesses at the moment due to political and economic uncertainty, we have been able to surpass all expectations.”

Emmersons Solicitors was established by Jacqueline Emmerson in 1998, following which she quickly obtained a Legal Aid Franchise and became one of the first and youngest members of The Law Society Family Law Panel.

The company is passionate about supporting charities which influence local, North East communities including SSAFA and the British Heart Foundation. The firm is also an official member of Solicitors for the Elderly, a specialist group of lawyers who have pledged to make a difference to older and vulnerable people. Emmersons is also involved in the Alzheimer’s Association scheme offering reduced fee work in relation to Lasting Powers of Attorney.
