North Tyneside employer ENGIE gives Mouth of the Tyne festival an energy boost

North Tyneside employer ENGIE is welcoming music artists Paloma Faith, James Arthur, Beverley Knight and many more to Tyneside as the company sponsors the popular Mouth of the Tyne Festival, which runs from July 5th to 8th.

The company, which provides 100% renewable energy to homes across the UK, employs in excess of 2,000 people in the North East and has sponsored the festival for two years running.

Alongside the star-studded line-up, the sponsorship by ENGIE includes a host of activities across the four days of the festival. Following ENGIE’s commitment to promoting the use of green energy, festival goers will be able to work up a thirst with a pedal-powered smoothie bike.

Children’s science entertainers, Science Boffins, will showcase the weird and wonderful ways that electricity can be generated, and for those wanting a fresh look ENGIE will also be providing the festival-favourite, face-painting. Representatives from ENGIE will be on site answering any home energy related questions and queries that the public may have.

Simon Kendrew, Head of Sales and Marketing – Home Energy at ENGIE said: “We’re really pleased to sponsor this year’s Mouth of the Tyne Festival. With our customer service centre based in the North East, we’re very excited to bring some added fun to the people of Tyneside whilst delivering important messages about green energy.

“The festival is such a significant event in the North-East’s calendar and it’s important for us to support events that serve our communities. This year’s festival promises to be even more spectacular than previous years and we look forward to enjoying some great music and an even better atmosphere with fellow festival goers.”

The family friendly music festival, which headlines at the Tynemouth Priory and Castle, is in its 13th year. Paloma Faith opens the headlining acts on July 5, with James Arthur on July 6, Paul Heaton & Jacqui Abbott on July 7 and Beverley Knight bringing the festival to a close on July 8. Many more artists can be found over the four days at The Playhouse in Whitley Bay and the Surf Café in Tynemouth.
