A Teesside-based finance firm has moved into new premises and appointed an experienced business consultant to drive expansion plans.

Marlin Corporate Finance, which was founded in 2013 by Managing Director Paul Griffiths, has moved into Falcon Court, Stockton, due to team expansion, including the appointment of Gary Lumby as consultant.

The firm, which provides specialist financial advice and capital for developers, investors and business across the UK, moved into the energy-efficient premises in January and now has access to meeting rooms and an open plan working area, which accommodates plans to significantly grow over the next 12 months.

Paul said: “Given the North East’s hardworking ethos, there will be many opportunities available for businesses in the area in the coming months and we want to be right there supporting them.

“Most businesses require funding or capital at some stage of their life, for expansion into new markets, buying property or assets, or to take advantage of opportunities to grow, through mergers, acquisitions or disposals, and we want to help as many as possible achieve their goals.

“We aim to double our team over the next year, adding experience from a variety of businesses and industries, as well as keeping up to date with the ever-evolving finance industry, and Gary’s appointment is just the start of that.”

Renowned North East businessman Gary joined the business in November 2018.

“Gary came very highly recommended,” said Paul. “His vast experience in not only banking but also service, marketing and growth techniques has helped us to develop and implement a number of ideas already, with his skills meaning we can also offer this expertise to our clients.”

Speaking of his appointment, Gary said: “Joining Marlin was a perfect fit. Paul and I are both passionate about local business and wanting to help as many as possible access the capital they need.

“I’m looking forward to building the business and being a part of its expansion over the coming years.”
