Sizzling summer for Ripon’s top agent

The top performing estate agency firm in Ripon has sold over £5 million worth of property during the month of August alone. This follows a busy quarter for Dacre, Son & Hartley, which is currently celebrating its 40th anniversary in the Cathedral City.

Dacre, Son & Hartley has sold over 30 properties over the last four months and has been ranked by property portal Rightmove as the leading agent in Ripon for five consecutive years.

Sales Manager Andrew Skelton says: “We are a hard working team and these results are a testament to this. August is a traditionally quieter month, but we have experienced a much higher than average viewer-to-offer ratio, driving through the sales. I think the results show that no matter what time of year you chose to put you home on the market, with the right agent, a successful sale can be achieved.”

The Ripon branch is one of 20 Dacre, Son & Hartley offices across North and West Yorkshire, and vendors therefore benefit from having both a local presence, but also a further reach across the County.

Andrew adds: “With more than 8,000 active buyers registered on our group mailing list, we are often able to match buyers with properties we are listing right away, as we already know what their requirements are. We also have tens of thousands of people visiting our website, and all of the property portal websites we subscribe to, on a daily basis, so we are able to use technology and good old fashioned common sense to set up potential buyers with the new homes hitting the market much quicker than other agents.”

One home that the Ripon branch marketed in August attracted seven viewers within five days, which resulted in six offers and a successful sale that was £20,000 over the asking price. Andrew explains: “Properties that benefit from our proactive approach, with quality marketing, are receiving large amounts of interest and in some instances, have gone for in excess of the asking price.”
