Sound Leisure brings Jukebox Day to Yorkshire with charity pledge

Sound Leisure White Digital Nostalgia Jukebox

The world’s only manufacturer of vinyl jukeboxes, Sound Leisure, is bringing Jukebox Day to Yorkshire by making a pledge to help a local charity.

The Leeds-based company has pledged to support a local charity by loaning one of its world-renowned jukeboxes to showcase at an upcoming fundraiser event. The firm is calling out for interested charities to get in touch via their online contact form with a short paragraph outlining their work and the event at which the jukebox will feature.

Traditionally an American holiday celebrated the day before Thanksgiving each year, Jukebox Day 2018 is taking place on Wednesday 21 November. In its 40th year in business Sound Leisure wants to bring the event to Yorkshire to celebrate the beauty of the jukebox.

Managing director of Sound Leisure, Chris Black commented:

“We really wanted to bring Jukebox Day celebrations to Yorkshire this year. As one of the only jukebox manufacturers in the world this is a day that we just could not let pass by!

“We’re committed to giving back to the local community and we do in many ways, from our apprenticeship-style, in-house training, creating new jobs and opportunities, to charity support and fundraising.

“To celebrate, we’ve decided to help in the best way we know, by donating a jukebox for a charity event. A juke really is a showstopping centrepiece and we’re looking forward to working with a local charity to help add the wow factor to their event.”

With Yorkshire values at the heart of the operation, the Sound Leisure team work hard to support local schools and charities through various initiatives and opportunities.

Established in 1978, Sound Leisure manufacturers and ships its bespoke products globally to some of the world’s most prestigious locations. The family-run firm is currently the only manufacturer of 7” vinyl playing jukeboxes and one of only two classic jukebox producers in the world.

The firm is asking music and jukebox enthusiasts to use the hashtag #JukeboxDay to share their jukebox stories and images and get involved in the conversation.

The Jukebox Day offering is limited to Yorkshire charities and entries must be received by 1st December 2018.
