Manchester-based Sports Tours International has signed a new £60 million contract with Danish-owned Club La Santa, one of the world’s top sports and active holiday resorts.
The deal will see Sports Tours International remain the UK and Ireland sales agent for the Lanzarote resort for a further eight years, extending a relationship which has been in place for more than three decades.
Sports Tours International sells almost 35,000 room nights per year at Club La Santa, sending more than 15,000 people from the UK and Ireland to holiday there every year. Established more than 30 years ago, it is popular with everyone from elite athletes including the Jenson Button, Alistair and Jonny Brownlee, Joanna Rowsell Shand and Dame Sarah Storey alongside fitness enthusiasts to families and the over 50s.
The site, located on the North West coast of the island, has world-class sports facilities including 10 tennis courts, five padel tennis courts, 11 badminton courts, four squash courts, a 400 metre running track, golf practice area, its own lagoon for water sports, a bike centre with close to 600 bikes and two sports halls for indoors sports. It’s also one of the few resorts in the world to have three open air 50 metre pools. There is also a wellness centre open every day which offers a range of treatments and therapies available at an extra charge.
Enjoying a high level of repeat business, at any one time 80 per cent of the guests have visited before, with the average person clocking up seven visits.
